IRISH SUPPORT EMERGING SCHOOLS FESTIVAL

Redingensians RFC are hosting a Berkshire Emerging Schools Festival today (Wednesday, 3 March). The festival is designed to encourage rugby in schools that are not traditionally strong in the sport and 28 teams are participating from across Berkshire.

In addition to encouraging schools to teach rugby themselves, the programme nominates one school to receive free rugby coaching. This year Slough and Eton School was the beneficiary, teaching rugby skills to enthusiastic children from a variety of ethnic groups.

The winners of the Berkshire festival will go forward to represent the county in the National Emerging Schools competition. All the players involved from the winning team will also be given tickets for a London Irish home game at the Madejski Stadium.

London Irish fully supports the Festivals, and in addition to giving tickets to the victorious team, will be sending along prominent players Chris Sheasby and Rob Hardwick to support and offer advice to the children taking part.

LAND ROVER COMMUNITY INCENTIVE SCHEME

For the third season running, Land Rover is a central sponsor of the Zurich Premiership League. And as a result Land Rover are running their Community Incentive Scheme (CIS), where any vehicles sold to club personnel or supporters through dealers affiliated to London Irish, results in a contribution to our community programme. All you need to do is make your local dealer aware that you are an Irish supporter so that Land Rover can arrange the appropriate donations.

Last season £750 was raised for London Irish Community schemes through the CIS – the cheque was presented to Nils Mordt by Lancaster Land Rover representative Alex Browne at the Sale Sharks game last autumn.

If you would like more information or wish to arrange a test drive, contact your local Land Rover dealer participating in the scheme.
