LONDON IRISH LAUNCHES NEW KIT
London Irish unveiled its new range of playing and leisure wear yesterday (Wednesday, 6th August). The range is the result of the Club's recently announced partnership with Canterbury of New Zealand who provide kit to a portfolio of rugby teams worldwide, including Ireland and the four Irish provinces: Munster, Leinster, Ulster and Connacht.
The new range of on-field, training and leisure wear was modelled by members of the London Irish professional squad during a special present ation for guests of the club, media and retail customers at the club's headquarters at Sunbury.
The highlight of the show was the launch of the new home shirt which is forest green, navy blue and white. The raglan style polycotton jersey has a 100% cotton drill collar with loop neck and comes with either long or short sleeves. Last season London Irish had the biggest selling replica shirt in the Zurich Premiership, having sold over 27,000 shirts. It is hoped that this success will continue with the new range.
Commenting on the kit launch Pat Coyne, Commercial Director of London Irish said, "We are really impressed with the new range from Canterbury. We hope that our supporters will go out and buy the shirts and continue to make the London Irish shirt the most popular in the Premiership."
Mostyn Thomas, Marketing Manager of Canterbury Europe said, "London Irish is an exciting addition to our rugby portfolio. It is a brand with real international potential that we are determined to help realise. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with the club."
