TEAM NEWS
There is one change to the starting line-up of the team that played Northampton Saints last Saturday. Michael Horak has had to fly to South Africa for family reasons; Ed Thrower comes in at full back. Rob Hoadley returns on the bench having recovered from a knee injury sustained during the final match of last season.
Looking forward to Sunday's game, Head Coach Gary Gold, said "Even without their World Cup players, Wasps are a strong team. I am expecting another difficult game that will test our recent progress to the full."

RUGBY WORLD CUP FEVER
In case you haven't noticed, planet earth has been hit with Rugby World Cup Fever and next Sunday at Causeway Stadium will be no different.
Before the London Wasps v London Irish match (kick-off at 3pm), they will show two World Cup games.
Ireland are playing Namibia, kick-off 11am UK time. Once the game is completed, a repeat of the South Africa v England game will be shown leading up to the 3pm kick-off.
Big screens will be erected in the Vere Suite and in the beer tent car park. The stadium will open at 10:30am and the Vere Suite will be thrown open to the first 350 supporters turning up on the day, whether they are London Wasps or London Irish fans.
Car Parking: In view of last weekend's traffic congestion at the Causeway Stadium, it has been decided that a flat fee of £5 will be charged for supporters to park in the upper field car park. It is envisaged that this flat fee will encourage supporters to use a car pool system coming to the game as well as speed up time while paying for parking.

POINTS MEAN PINTS Win Guinness to enjoy with your friends
We all enjoy fast, open, attacking rugby with lots of tries ......... especially when London Irish are scoring them. With the new season now in full swing, our friends at Guinness are offering you the chance to win cans of their famous brew by correctly forecasting the total number of points that will be scored in the next home game against Rotherham Titans on Sunday 26th October.
Denied promotion to the Zurich Premiership on non-playing grounds last year, Rotherham were written off by pundits before a ball was even kicked this season, but many believe them to be in a lot better shape to spring a few surprises this time than when they last made it into the top flight. Their home form at Millmoor may well be the key to whether they stay up.
Our competition winner will receive a can of cool, refreshing Guinness Draught for every point scored when Rotherham visit the Madejski Stadium later this month. So points will mean pints that day! The winner will also receive a Guinness t-shirt.
To enter, all you have to do is send an e-mail to competition@london-irish.com, with your Name, Address and a Contact Telephone number (please state whether Home, Work or Mobile) plus the total number of points you think will collectively be scored in the London Irish vs. Rotherham match on Sunday 26th October.
The closing date for entries is Friday 24th October. Entrants must be aged 18 or over. In the event of there being more than one correct entry, the Guinness prize will go to the first one pulled from the hat. The judge's decision is final.

US PORTSMOUTH MINI FESTIVAL KICKS OFF THE SEASON IN STYLE
Sunday 5th, October saw United Services (USP) hold its second Annual Mini Festival. As a partner club of London Irish, USP got some helpful tips from Conor O'Shea, who wrote a foreword in the festival programme, which was well received by players and parents alike.
Another London Irish partner club, Overton (the overall winners of the inaugural event last year) along with Brighton returned as major opposition at just about all the age groups from Under 7s through to Under 12s. Also in attendance were Fawley Under 8s and Under 10s and a special welcome was reserved for Jersey who flew over their Under 12s for the day. In total some 300 children in all played rugby in the blazing sunshine on the South coast.

The overall (and clear) winners this year were Brighton, who proved to be very strong across the board. Fawley did very well to come runners up in the Under 8s, particularly as they are in the process of re-starting and were very accommodating to USP during the early days of their own Minis inception in the mid 1990s.

BLARNEY ARCHIVE
As mentioned previously, there are still issues with sending the Blarney to AOL or Hotmail accounts, which is currently being looked in to. However, thanks to Paul Warrender you can now access an archive of The Blarney through the following link - http://www.london-irish-rugby.com/blarney.htm

THE BLARNEY
Over 5,900 people have currently subscribed to the Blarney; do you forward this to your mates? Or do you print it out and pass it around? Well, why not provide us with their e-mail address so that they can receive their own personal copy. E-mail Jon Salinger (jon.salinger@london-irish.com) with e-mail addresses. Let us try and spread the word of London Irish to a much greater audience.
