Team News

There are three changes to the starting line-up of the team that played Leicester Tigers on Sunday last, one is positional and two are players.  Scott Staniforth moves from the left wing to full back; Justin Bishop returns from injury to make his first start of the season on the left wing and Paul Hodgson starts at scrum half. Unavailable for selection through injury are: Adam Halsey (foot), Peter Poulos (shoulder) and Doug Wheatley (hand).

Looking forward to Sunday's match, Head Coach, Gary Gold said: "Our start to the season has been as tough as it gets.  We were very disappointed about last Sunday's home defeat by Leicester Tigers, not just by the margin of victory but also by the manner in which we conceded the scores.  This has been addressed in no uncertain terms in training this week.

"Wasps are another team with a strong pack and lethal backs, however, if we can compete with them physically, I have no doubt that we have a chance of winning."

O-Pro Protection

A dentist from O-Pro mouthguards recently visited the squad at Sunbury-on-Thames and have subsequently supplied all the players with two custom-fitted guards each in the London Irish design. This is the third year of supplying all the players and O-Pro always welcome the chance of providing dental protection to the Premiership teams.
