LIARFC RECRUITMENT DRIVE
During June the amateur branch of London Irish ran a pilot recruitment programme at three schools in Twickenham. With the aim of raising the profile of the amateur club and recruiting new players, Digger the Irish Wolfhound visited summer fairs run by St. James RC Primary School, Trafalgar Junior School and The Mall School.
The summer fairs were bombarded with green hair spray, emerald sweets, brochures and flyers about the activities of the LIARFC. The secret weapon proved to be Digger, who made loads of new young friends for London Irish and helped to raise the profile of the Amateur Club in Twickenham. Although over forty-two families signed up to receive information about playing for LIARFC the Under 11s are still short on new players. For more information about the summer activities or joining the LIARFC please email Angela O'Neill on angela@bricana.fsnet.co.uk
