TEAM NEWS

There is one change to the starting line-up of the team that played Leicester Tigers last week.  Michael Horak returns at fullback (Michael became a father for the first time last Saturday!).  Unavailable for selection due to injury are Pierre Durant (neck) and Rob Hardwick (knee).

Looking forward to Saturday's match Head Coach, Gary Gold, said, "Playing in the Cup always provides a welcome break from the relentless demands of the Premiership.  These 'winner takes all' matches mean that both teams have every incentive to give of their best on the day."

"Playing Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park is always a serious test for us.  I'm sure Rob Andrew, Andrew Blades and their talented team will ensure Saturday's match is no different."

IMPORTANT NEW SPONSOR ANNOUNCED

London Irish announced yesterday (25th February) that the club had been selected as the primary marketing vehicle for the launch of a new international company, Gold Circle Casino.com.

The new company has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Zurich Premiership rugby club that will see the company's logo featuring on players' shirts and on other merchandise and marketing material.  The initial 18 month sponsorship, with an option to continue for a further two years, starts immediately and has a value well into six figures.

TICKETS GOING FAST!

Further to Tuesday's special e-zine, announcing that there are no more East Stand tickets available for the St. Patrick's Weekend game on 21st March, the West Lower Stand is now also sold out!

South Stand Adult tickets cost £16 if bought via the on-line booking facility on the website, or £18 if booked via the ticket hotline – 0118 968 1000.   Tickets for the West Upper can also be purchased in the same way.

We would also like your assistance - if you have any of the 'FREE' tickets and you know that they are not going to be used, we would be grateful if you can return these and then they can be put back onto the system.  The tickets need to be returned to the Ticket Office.

LIMITED EDITION SHIRT

Don't forget that the 2004 limited edition St Patrick's Day Weekend jersey is now available to pre-order until 17th March (or while stocks last).  Orders can be placed via the online shop or by calling 0118 968 1239.

Please note: Season Ticket Holders - please quote your ticket number in the Comments section when you place your order to ensure you receive your discount.

DIGGER LIGHTS UP LONDON IRISH COACHING WEEK

Last week saw the first London Irish Coaching Week, organised in conjunction with Wokingham Sport & Leisure. The children on the Coaching Week received 30 hours of coaching, with a mixture of skills work, videos, and a number of games to add to the fun. The week was enlivened by a visit from Digger, who presented the children with London Irish "goodies" and tickets for the game against NEC Harlequins on 4th April. Digger also presented a signed London Irish rugby ball to the player who had, in the opinion of the coaches, improved the most during the week.

The next London Irish Coaching Week will be held during the Easter break, from 13th April to 16th April, at Redingensians RFC. Because of the Bank Holiday this is a four-day event.

The Coaching Weeks are an ideal opportunity for clubs and schools to send all or part of a team, to receive high quality coaching together. To assist with this there is a 10% discount for bookings of more than ten children. Organisations can use this discount to reduce the price to the participants, or put it towards a tour fund, for example.

For further details and a booking form, please contact Wokingham Sport & Leisure on 0118 940 3861 or enquiries@wokinghamsport.co.uk

PAST PLAYERS' LUNCH

At the Past Players' lunch recently held at Sunbury, the Injured Players Trust received a cheque from Philip Lawless of Motcomb's Restaurant in Belgravia. Philip raised this at an auction held at the Motcomb's Golf day. All at London Irish Amateur and the Trust thank Motcomb's for their very generous donation.
