Team News
There are five changes to the starting line-up of the team that played in Auch last weekend. Scott Staniforth comes in at outside centre having recovered from a groin strain. Squad rotation sees Mark Mapletoft, Doug Wheatley, Nick Kennedy and Paul Gustard start at out half, tight head prop, second row forward and blindside flanker respectively. Shane Geraghty, the 18 years old out half from the Academy, makes his first appearance on the bench. Unavailable for selection through injury are: Kieron Dawson (knee), Adrian Flavin (neck), Darren Edwards (jaw), Rodd Penney (hamstring), Peter Poulos (knee), Paul Sackey (ankle) and Richard Skuse (neck). Looking forward to Sunday's match, Gary Gold, Head Coach, said: "Last weekend's away match in Auch proved to be as difficult as expected. The home side defended well and their backs always threatened. We did not capitalise on the chances we created with the result that we came away with only a slim margin of victory. We have to finish our chances on Sunday if we are to progress in this important competition."

Mike Catt's Busy Two Days
Mike Catt has had two busy days. On Wednesday 27th, he was at Buckingham Palace to receive his MBE from Her Majesty, The Queen. This morning he was at the Vatican in Rome for a private audience with Pope John Paul II.

Mike is pictured with Lawrence Dallaglio on the steps of St Peter's with a signed England shirt that they later presented to His Holiness.

Munster to play at Twickenham
As you may know NEC Harlequins will be playing their home Heineken Cup match against Munster at Twickenham on Saturday 15th January 2005.
If everything goes to plan we would expect to be taking part in the away leg of the Challenge Cup Quarter final this weekend so we are considering the possibility of taking some hospitality packages in order to support our friends from across the Irish Sea.
At this stage we do not have any details of packages or pricing but if you would like to consider joining a London Irish group for this match please contact Kelly Adey via e-mail (kelly.adey@london-irish.com) to register your interest, without obligation.
